The Life Learning Project Proposed Initiatives

In order to achieve its goal, the Life Learning Project is forming five Initiatives - each with its own responsibilities and objectives, and all working together towards the overall Vision of the Project.

The division of the effort into these Initiatives will aid in the management and co-ordination of the work needed.

They are:

Initiative I -
Strategy, Publicity & Fund Raising

  • Set the overall strategy and direction of the Life Learning Project and its Initiatives

  • Co-ordinate the activities of the Initiatives

  • Create and maintain a network of potential and actual advisors, partners, participants, contributors and simple observers

  • Set up and maintain a publicity campaign to explain the concept of Life Learning Courses and the mission of the Life Learning Project  to relevant people and organisations

  • Raise funds to help support all the Life Learning Project  Initiatives

  • Fully articulate and maintain the Goals and Objectives of the Life Learning Project and its Initiatives

  • Monitor and measure progress towards the goals and objectives

Initiative II -
Validation & Accreditation

  • Develop a set of criteria for what constitutes a true Life Learning Course

  • Develop versions for:

    • A 1-year post-school diploma course

    • A 1-year post-graduate masters-level course

    • Shorter courses for working adults

    • A 3-4 year degree-level course

  • Develop a validation process for assessing…

    • …individual modules that could be used as part of a Life Learning Course, and

    • …complete Life Learning Courses, that are taken though a single institution, perhaps making use of modules that are provided by a variety of institutions

  • Provide a service for accrediting…

    • …individual modules that could be used as part of a Life Learning Course and monitoring their conformity and quality on a regular basis,

    • …complete Life Learning Courses, that are taken though a single institution, and monitoring their conformity and quality on a regular basis

  • Seek 'degree' accreditation status for Life Learning Course-accredited courses from recognised, prestigious universities

Initiative III -
Create a Life Learning Institute

  • Create a training course that is validated as a Life Learning Course.

    • Initially this may consist entirely of accredited modules provided by other institutions

  • Create and run a training institute  that offers the Life Learning Courses.

This Institute should be an exemplar and model which, initially, others can copy and learn from.

Initiative IV -
New Institute Promotion

Encourage and facilitate the setting up of new Institutes that specialise in the provision of Life Learning Courses.

Initiative V -
LLC Promotion in Mainstream Education

Encourage and facilitate established educational institutions to offer Life Learning Courses.
